Aditi Rao Hydari on 'Parivarik ManuRanjan': 'I listen to the child inside me'
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari says her film choices are guided less by strategy and more by instinct — specifically, by what excites her inner child. The admission came during promotional activities for her upcoming streaming title 'Parivarik ManuRanjan', which is set to release on SonyLIV on 13 November 2026.
What drew her to the film
Hydari described the project as a refreshing departure from the kind of roles she usually encounters. “I just found it really sweet. It’s like a slice of life film story. Also, the people who were involved, I don’t usually get stuff like this. Also, an opportunity to work with them. It was all those things that made me want to do this film,” she said.
The actress spoke at a promotional event held at a five-star property in the Goregaon East area of Mumbai, alongside her co-star Pankaj Tripathi.
On instinct over analysis
Hydari was candid about her decision-making process, pushing back against the idea of overthinking a role. “I think also the fact that as an actor, to just be in a very different kind of space is also a lot of fun. Also, you get to play in a very different kind of way. There was a lightness in it, which I really liked. I just wanted to do it. I didn’t think too much. There’s an instinct and excitement. I listen to the child inside me. If I’m excited about something, then the journey for me is really important. Because anyway, the result is not in my hands,” she said.
She elaborated further: “So, if the journey is fun and there’s adventure, it’s playful and you’re learning, and there could be people, I think that’s what’s very, very important. Because that’s what lasts with you.”
The film and its release
'Parivarik ManuRanjan' is a slice-of-life family entertainer, a genre Hydari noted she does not often get to explore. The film’s casting — which brings together Hydari and Pankaj Tripathi — has drawn early attention. It will stream exclusively on SonyLIV from 13 November 2026.
Hydari's approach to her craft
This is not the first time Hydari has spoken about leading with feeling over calculation. The actress, who has built a reputation for selective, often unconventional choices across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, has consistently cited emotional resonance as her primary filter. The 'Parivarik ManuRanjan' project appears to be a natural extension of that philosophy — prioritising the joy of the process over commercial calculus.
With the film’s release days away, audiences will soon see whether Hydari’s gut instinct has once again paid off.
