Adivi Sesh Reveals Insights on Bilingual Film Production
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) Adivi Sesh, an actor, director, and writer, is preparing for the launch of his upcoming movie ‘Dacoit’. He recently opened up about the intricacies involved in filming bilingual projects.
During a promotional interview with IANS, Sesh revealed that he co-wrote the script alongside Shaneil Deo, who also serves as the film's director.
Discussing the dynamics of creating a bilingual narrative, he stated, “There is a wonderful flexibility in our collaboration. Each of us has the freedom to express our thoughts openly. If I deliver a scene that doesn’t resonate with him, he can communicate that directly. It's that straightforward, and there are no professional barriers. If I find a line he wrote unsatisfactory, I can voice my concerns too. This iterative process is what true collaboration looks like, making it a rewarding experience.”
He added, “Unfiltered honesty is the unspoken guideline in our partnership. Since we filmed in two languages, with him being a native Hindi speaker and myself a native Telugu speaker, we each took responsibility for ensuring the authenticity and sensibility in our respective languages. We developed a harmonious workflow: we’d first perform the scene in Hindi so he could capture the necessary elements as a director. Afterward, I would adapt it into Telugu, ensuring it aligned with the beats he envisioned, seeking his approval along the way.”
This is how the film was crafted. Each scene, line, and take was shot separately for Hindi and Telugu. We even approached scenes differently: in Telugu, the punchline might come at the start, while in Hindi, it could conclude the scene or be positioned in a subsequent scene. Thus, the script itself was treated uniquely,” he elaborated.
Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, ‘Dacoit’ is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2026.
