Mumbai, Nov 18 (NationPress) Actor Adivi Sesh, who is preparing for the launch of his bilingual film Dacoit, expressed that for him, the film was never about toggling between Hindi and Telugu; rather, it was about grasping how the same character exists in two emotionally distinct realms.
Addressing a prevalent misconception, Sesh remarked that he never had to “work on” his Hindi pronunciation for Dacoit. His fluency is a result of his diverse upbringing and rich exposure over the years.
“For me, Dacoit was never about switching between Hindi and Telugu; it was about understanding how the same character breathes differently in two emotional worlds. Hindi has always felt natural to me, so diction wasn’t the hurdle. The real task was to attune myself to the attitude, rhythm, and emotional tone that each language necessitates,” Adivi stated to IANS.
He elaborated that the Hindi version conveys “a softer, more controlled intensity, while the Telugu version exhibits a stronger physicality and more vocal emotional expression.”
“As both an actor and co-writer, I had to continuously adjust to ensure each rendition resonated authentically with its audience. Although the storyline remains unchanged, the emotional experiences are so uniquely distinct that it genuinely felt like we were crafting two films simultaneously,” Sesh remarked.
Sesh applied a similar methodology in Major, treating both language adaptations as separate cinematic endeavors.
“Making bilingual films is akin to producing two distinct movies. Few individuals go that extra mile, but I refuse to settle for anything short of perfection. Every frame, every emotion must resonate authentically with its audience; that’s the cinematic experience I aim to provide,” he added.
In addition to Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, the film will feature director and actor Anurag Kashyap in a formidable role, along with Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla, among others.
Dacoit narrates the tale of an angry convict on a quest for revenge against his ex-girlfriend who betrayed him. As he devises a dangerous plot to ensnare her, the narrative unfolds into an emotionally charged story of love, betrayal, and vengeance.
Filmed concurrently in both Hindi and Telugu, the story and screenplay have been collaboratively developed by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. Currently in post-production, Dacoit is set for a grand pan-India release.
Sesh has previously cemented his status as a leading actor with hits like Dongaata, Kshanam, Ami Thumi, Goodachari, Evaru, Major, and HIT: The Second Case.
