Adivi Sesh Discusses Harmonizing His Acting and Writing Careers
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 22 (NationPress) Actor, director, and writer Adivi Sesh is currently preparing for the release of his next movie, ‘Dacoit’. He has opened up about how he balances his roles as both an actor and a writer in his creative endeavors.
During a conversation with IANS as part of the film's promotional activities, Sesh addressed the intriguing question of whether his acting experience influences his writing or vice versa. He responded, “Actually, it's neither. It's fascinating. My guiding principle is simple: if I come up with a concept for a film that seems ambitious, I won't even consider writing it if I feel it’s beyond my capabilities as an actor.”
He elaborated, “This guiding principle is incredibly valuable to me. Once I ascertain that I can realistically portray the character, I take a few days to contemplate it before I begin writing. If I believe in my ability to play the role, the remainder of the process is solely about immersing myself in my writing. Interestingly, when I visualize a scene, I don’t picture myself or any specific actor.”
“All the faces of actors appear indistinct in my mind; I can't visualize their features while I write. This allows me to concentrate purely on the ideas and emotions involved. Once I'm on set, the act of writing is the furthest thing from my mind,” he added.
Regarding ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’, which also features Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap, the film is directed by Shaneil Deo. It is a bilingual film filmed in both Telugu and Hindi, exploring the story of former lovers who come together and embark on a series of heists.
Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, ‘Dacoit’ is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026.
