Adivi Sesh's Bold Insight: Intrusive Thoughts Are True Thoughts
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 30 (NationPress) Actor, director, and writer Adivi Sesh, currently anticipating the premiere of his new film 'Dacoit', has expressed an intriguing perspective on the notion of intrusive thoughts.
During a promotional interview with IANS regarding 'Dacoit', Sesh articulated that what society labels as intrusive thoughts are, in fact, genuine thoughts stemming from the mind's instinctual responses.
When queried about his views on maintaining childlike wonder and curiosity as an artist amidst societal pressures, he responded, “I wholeheartedly agree. We often build up defenses to shield ourselves from scrutiny. The reality is, everything we categorize as intrusive is actually a true reflection of our thoughts. It’s a pity we live in a society where we cannot openly express this. I don’t consider myself nearly as courageous as he is in that regard.”
Traditionally, intrusive thoughts are recognized as unwelcome, distressing, and frequently repetitive thoughts, images, or impulses that arise unexpectedly. These thoughts usually clash with an individual's core values or desires, resulting in feelings of anxiety, shame, or distress.
In prior discussions, Sesh has highlighted the resilience of Telugu cinema. He pointed out that, unlike other Indian film industries, Telugu cinema retains a strong emotional backbone as it has not yet succumbed to corporate influence.
When asked what distinguishes Telugu cinema from other Indian film industries, he elaborated, “It’s about emotional ownership. What I mean is, Telugu cinema is still primarily produced by individual producers. Some may have put their homes on the line to fund a film, while others might have sold land. Whether it's a successful realtor or a doctor, these are the individuals financing our films, even those with budgets of INR 300, 400, or 500 crores.”
Meanwhile, 'Dacoit', produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, is scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2026.
