How Did Ahan Shetty's PADI License Aid His Role in ‘Border 2’?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 3 (NationPress) Actor Ahan Shetty, who is garnering positive feedback for his performance in the newly released film ‘Border 2’, discussed his preparations for portraying a naval officer in the film.
In an interview with IANS following the film's release, he revealed how his PADI license proved beneficial during training in the film's pre-production phase.
A PADI license is an internationally recognized scuba diving certification that is generally obtained through theoretical lessons, pool sessions, and four open-water dives, allowing divers to explore depths of up to 18 meters.
Ahan expressed, “I obtained my PADI license back in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. I was part of my school's swimming team, so being underwater felt very natural to me. When I learned that diving would be a part of the film, I was thrilled. I thought, ‘Great, let’s do it!’ Once Anurag Singh, the director, explained the film's plot to me, I realized these underwater scenes were integral.”
He continued, “We began training about two months prior to filming those sequences to ensure that the underwater experience would be seamless. Some individuals did experience panic underwater, especially those who weren’t accustomed to long periods in the water. However, everything went off without a hitch. The dive team and safety crew were exceptional. I believe the underwater footage looks fantastic, and I’m very pleased with it.”
‘Border 2’ depicts the events of the Battle of Basantar, a crucial conflict in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 in the western sector of India, where Indian forces achieved a significant victory, securing territory in the Punjab and Jammu regions.
The film is helmed by Anurag Singh, renowned for ‘Kesari’, and promises a blend of realistic battlefield portrayals with character-driven narratives.
Production is reportedly a collaboration between J. P. Dutta’s banner and a major studio, suggesting a considerable budget and modern production quality.
