Mumbai, Dec 22 (NationPress) Ahan Shetty has revealed his experiences of enduring intense military training and executing demanding action sequences for his character in 'Border 2.'
In a candid interview with IANS, he described the challenges faced while filming at the NDA Khadakwasla in Pune, emphasizing how physically demanding it was and how it profoundly affected his approach to the role. He stated, “Shooting at NDA Khadakwasla in Pune was not merely about obtaining authentic visuals - it transformed my entire approach to the character. Training in a location where real officers prepare means you can’t pretend. Your physicality, stance, and intensity must align with the authenticity of the setting.”
“My training regimen remained consistent, whether in Pune, Amritsar, Khopoli, or Mumbai. Non-negotiables included strength training, engaging in sports like football and cricket to enhance agility and cardiovascular endurance, and adhering to a strict recovery routine involving ice baths, steam, sauna, and red light therapy. Recovery was as vital as the training itself. When filming high-intensity combat scenes day in and day out, consistent repair and performance are essential,” he explained.
The 'Tadap' star continued, “Filming at actual military sites presented genuine physical challenges. You must contend with real terrain, weather conditions, and the rigorous demands of tactical sequences. The strength training coupled with endurance from sports comes into play during combat scenes in sweltering 40-degree heat or while wearing tactical gear for 12-hour shooting days.”
In 'Border 2,' Ahan Shetty will portray the role of a Navy officer. The first-look poster released by the producers depicts him amidst a war zone, with blood on his face and a fierce determination in his eyes. Armed with a tank gun, he looks ready for battle.
Directed by Anurag Singh, this upcoming war drama features a stellar cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and is set to release in theatres on January 23, 2026.
