Hyderabad, Dec 5 (NationPress) The team behind director Boyapeti Sreenu's eagerly awaited action drama 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam', starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the principal role, has officially announced that the film's release, initially set for December 5, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
In a statement shared via their X account, the production company 14 Reels Plus expressed their deep regret, saying, "With a heavy heart, we must inform you that #Akhanda2 will not be released as planned due to unavoidable circumstances. This is a difficult moment for us, and we sincerely empathize with the disappointment felt by fans and movie enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the film."
The statement continued, "We are diligently working to resolve this issue as swiftly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Your support means everything to us, and we promise to provide a positive update soon."
It is worth noting that the production house had canceled the premiere shows scheduled in India just last Thursday evening.
The announcement mentioned, "The #Akhanda2 premieres in India planned for today have been canceled due to technical problems. Despite our best efforts, some complications are beyond our control. We apologize for the disruption. However, overseas premieres will proceed as scheduled today."
The film has generated significant anticipation and has received clearance from the Censor Board for release with a U/A certificate.
Reports indicate that the film completed its censor approvals by Saturday and has a runtime of 166 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes).
For those unaware, the film was originally set to debut on December 5 this year.
A newly released teaser has further heightened expectations. This teaser depicts the country's adversaries conspiring to undermine India's foundation and features Balakrishna, portrayed as a sadhu, declaring, "Where there is evil, there is also a God! Be courageous," in his signature style.
The teaser reinforces the themes presented in the trailer, indicating that Balakrishna possesses a divine force within him as he battles powerful sorcerers supporting India's foes. It offers glimpses of thrilling action sequences awaiting viewers.
It is clear from the teaser that Balakrishna's character will confront both the nation's enemies and the malevolent forces aiming to disrupt peace and harmony in 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam'.
Produced on a grand scale by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the project is being presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri.
