New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) Akhil Sachdeva made a remarkable entry into the Bollywood music world with the poignant hit “Humsafar” from the 2017 film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Although this track thrust him into the limelight, the renowned singer-composer revealed that the predominant anxiety he experienced was the fear of being labeled a “one-song wonder” by the industry.

“When I began my journey in playback singing and film composition, I felt immense pressure due to the overwhelming success of my first song, which remains a significant hit even today and continues to resonate well. However, the apprehension that lingered was that perhaps the industry would perceive me as merely a one-hit wonder,” Akhil shared with IANS.

The artist behind the hit “Tera Ban Jaunga” reflected on his career trajectory. While he did not always garner the industry's attention, he concentrated on personal growth rather than seeking external affirmation.

“Over time, I realized that my battle was with myself. My goal was to grow stronger and better because the industry often overlooked me. Initially, I concentrated on self-improvement, but now I focus on broader aspects,” explained the singer, who holds a Bachelor's degree (with Honours) in Economics from the Delhi College of Arts & Commerce, University of Delhi.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania, directed by Shashank Khaitan, led to Akhil's encounter with actress Huma Qureshi at an Eid dinner.

This film serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2014 movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, featuring stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

The plot centers on an aspiring independent air hostess from a small town, who defies the patriarchal norms set by her chauvinistic fiancé.

Akhil’s subsequent success came with “Tera Ban Jaunga” from the 2019 blockbuster Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. This romantic drama, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is a remake of his own Telugu film Arjun Reddy, which follows a doctor who descends into despair when his girlfriend, played by Kiara Advani, marries someone else.
