Mumbai, July 13 (NationPress) Actor Akshay Ajit Singh expressed his thoughts on second chances and prolonged waits depicted in his Australian-Indian romantic film, "Four Years Later", alongside Shahana Goswami.

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Akshay mentioned that throughout the narrative, neither character can predict how long it will be until they reunite.

He elaborated, "They hold onto hope—maybe tomorrow we will cross paths again." This kind of anticipation extends time itself. Sometimes it’s four years, or even longer. This is what links Yash and Shree—the faith that they will meet again, eventually.

Discussing his connection with his character Yash, Akshay revealed that he could relate to Yash on many levels.

"Yash is someone who keeps his emotions close to his chest. He struggles to show vulnerability. Society often encourages men to hide their feelings and to be 'strong'. Portraying him required me to confront emotions I may have buried deep within. It was a tough yet profoundly rewarding experience," he shared.

Akshay recounted his initial response to the offer for "Four Years Later".

He stated that during the audition process, they gained insight into the story and the depth of their characters.

Akshay explained, "Although we were given only a few scenes, we could feel that these characters were genuinely real. The storytelling is quite distinctive—it's in English yet revolves around two Indian individuals and their personal love journeys. It possessed a certain rawness and emotional depth rarely seen in romantic narratives. That truly fascinated me."

Additionally, he shared his feelings upon being selected for the role. "When I learned I was chosen, I felt immense joy—and to be honest, a bit of surprise. After spending two decades in this industry, typically actors are cast in romantic roles early in their careers. But for me, this opportunity came later, and I’m thankful for it. The themes are incredibly relatable and grounded; it felt wonderful to be part of something so significant," Akshay expressed.
