Los Angeles, April 15 (NationPress) - Renowned Hollywood star Anne Hathaway is delving into her musical side, seeking guidance from an actual music artist.

The 43-year-old actress recently discussed her preparations for her role as the lead singer in the movie ‘Mother Mary’ during its premiere, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.

She shared that she consulted with real pop sensation Charli XCX, gaining valuable insights about the music she would be performing. The new A24 psychological thriller, set to hit select theaters this Friday, follows Hathaway's character, Mother Mary, just before a major performance, when a long-lost friend, played by Michaela Coel, unexpectedly reappears.

Hathaway remarked to ‘People’, "The person that I reached out to was Charli. I wanted to discuss the music she composed, which is incredible, but I also had many questions about her life as a singer and what that experience entails.”

The film features original tracks by FKA Twigs, Charli XCX, and Jack Antonoff, the latter two also serving as producers. Notably, one of the songs titled ‘Burial’ was co-written by Hathaway, Charli, Antonoff, and Charli's spouse, George Daniel, drummer of The 1975.

According to ‘People’, Hathaway also consulted the movie's choreographer, Dani Vitale, a seasoned performer who has toured with various artists, to better embody her character. Through the filming process, Hathaway developed a newfound appreciation for pop singers and the extensive effort that goes into their performances, both physically and mentally.

She expressed, “What I realized about singers is that they are endurance athletes who can perform in platform heels. They are some of the most charismatic individuals and possess an incredible self-belief, driven to express what lies within them.”

In contrast, Hathaway noted that as an actress, she experiences less vulnerability, preferring to “share what’s inside of me through a filter.”

Thus, she has dismissed the idea of pursuing a singing career, stating, "I can’t envision that happening.”
