Chennai, June 12 (NationPress) Actor Atharvaa Murali has expressed that he holds no regrets about not being cast in the lead role of director Mari Selvaraj's iconic hit 'Pariyerum Perumal'.

During the audio launch of director Nelson Venkatesan's film 'DNA', where he stars alongside Nimisha Sajayan, Atharvaa began with a light-hearted note, stating, "I intended to discuss various aspects of DNA. But Mari Sir's unexpected revelation stole the show."

He continued, "So much has transpired since 'Pardesi'. 'Pariyerum Perumal' stands out as one of the finest films I've seen in the past decade. I genuinely admire it. However, I have no regrets for not being part of 'Pariyerum Perumal' as Kathir has delivered an outstanding performance."

Turning to Mari Selvaraj, he expressed, "I now look forward to hearing another script from you soon."

This comment followed Mari Selvaraj's revelation at the event that he initially envisioned Atharvaa in the lead role of 'Pariyerum Perumal'.

Mari Selvaraj recounted, "I wonder if Atharvaa remembers this. He was the first actor I approached with the 'Pariyerum Perumal' script. After watching 'Paradesi', I crafted the script and pondered which hero to approach.

"After the release of Atharvaa's 'Banaa Kaathadi', I could clearly see him as the protagonist of 'Pariyerum Perumal'. I met him and shared the script, but his busy schedule prevented him from taking on the role," Mari Selvaraj remarked, adding that he felt quite disappointed that day.
