Chennai, Feb 14 (NationPress) Actor Atharvaa, currently in the lead role of director Aakash Baskaran's highly anticipated romantic drama, ‘Idhayam Murali’, has devoted this film to all individuals experiencing one-sided love.

At the title launch event hosted at St Joseph’s Institute of Technology in Chennai, Atharvaa, portraying Idhayam Murali, engaged with the audience of students, asking, “How many among you are in one-sided love?”

He remarked, “Truly, the happiness, sorrow, and disillusionment felt in one-sided love carry more weight than those found in mutual love and leave an indelible mark on life. We aimed to illustrate these emotions and dedicate a film to one-sided love.”

The film’s title, ‘Idhayam Murali’, evokes memories of the legendary classic ‘Idhayam’, which stands as one of the greatest successes of Atharvaa’s father, Murali.

On the title choice, Atharvaa stated, “We didn’t select the title ‘Idhayam Murali’ merely to honor my father. In the film, I embody an Idhayam Murali with my own one-sided love. I believe everyone has their own Idhayam Murali. As mentioned in the film, beyond Laila-Majnu and Romeo-Juliet, if one-sided love deserves recognition, it’s through Idhayam Murali. I’m thrilled to have worked on this film and dedicate it to all one-sided lovers here.”

Discussing the significance of the title, Atharvaa shared, “This is a very special film. Many claim that the essence of one-sided love has evolved, but I disagree. The emotion remains unchanged. Idhayam Murali represents not just a character, but a profound feeling.”

The film’s teaser features Atharvaa as Idhayam Murali, seen in the US watching a video where a friend proposes to his girlfriend. As he finishes the clip, he receives a call from his uncle inquiring about his whereabouts, stating that guests for his wedding are waiting for him. Idhayam Murali responds that he is in New York, prompting his uncle to urge him to return to India immediately. Idhayam assures him he’ll head to the airport right away, to which his uncle replies he’ll stay on the line until he boards a flight back home.

One of South India's leading music directors, Thaman, makes his return to acting in this film. Thaman was previously seen as a hero in director Shankar’s popular film ‘Boys’. Interestingly, he also composed the music for this film.

In addition to Atharvaa and Thaman, the film will include actors Preity Mukundhan, Kayadu Lohar, Natty, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid, Angeline, Pragya, Sudhakar, and Yashashree, among others.

The cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing is done by Pradeep E Ragav. The film is co-directed by Senthilkumar Kesavan, with dialogues penned by Ramanagirivasan, Aakash Baskaran, and Dravid Selvam.
