Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav headline 'Om Ka Hari', a new dramedy directed by Harish Vyas that centres on the unspoken love between a father and son, with the film set for a theatrical release on 18 September 2026. The announcement was made on Monday, 31 August, with Soni Razdan also confirmed in a key role. Produced by First Ray Films, the project marks Vyas and Jha's third collaboration.

What the Film Is About

'Om Ka Hari' explores the emotional distance that quietly grows between fathers and sons who love each other but have lost the language to say so. The film does not frame this as conflict alone — it treats the silence itself as the subject, asking what it costs two people to hold back words they mean.

Alongside Jha and Yadav in the titular roles, the cast includes Soni Razdan, Samta Sudiksha, and Ayesha Kapur in significant parts.

Director Harish Vyas on the Trilogy

Vyas describes 'Om Ka Hari' as the third and most personal chapter in an informal trilogy built around love that goes unsaid. 'I think all three of my films have been about love, but about different kinds of love and, more importantly, about the things we struggle to say,' he said.

He elaborated: 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain was about reminding a husband and wife that after 30 years of marriage, you still need to say ‘I love you.’ Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele was about discovering love in friendship. And Om Ka Hari is perhaps the most personal and universal of the three — about a father and son who love each other deeply but have forgotten how to say it. There is no rivalry older than Father vs Son. We fight, we challenge each other, we carry expectations and hurt, but underneath all of that is love. Sometimes, all it takes is saying it.'

The Vyas–Jha Collaboration

This is the third time Harish Vyas and Anshuman Jha have worked together. Their debut, 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain', featured Sanjay Mishra and Pankaj Tripathi and examined why couples in long marriages stop verbalising affection. Their second outing, 'Hum Bhi Akele-Tum Bhi Akele', explored love emerging from an unlikely friendship. 'Om Ka Hari' completes what has become a thematic trilogy on emotional expression.

Notably, Vyas has chosen to work with actors from distinctly different generations for the central pairing — Raghubir Yadav, a veteran of Indian parallel cinema, alongside the younger Anshuman Jha — a casting choice that mirrors the generational gap at the heart of the story.

'Om Ka Hari' is produced by First Ray Films and will open in theatres on 18 September 2026. No streaming details have been announced. The film arrives at a time when mid-budget, character-driven Hindi dramas have found renewed theatrical traction, with audiences responding to intimate storytelling outside the blockbuster format.
