Los Angeles, Nov 2 (NationPress) The iconic Anthony Hopkins, known for his remarkable acting career, has recently engaged in a challenging financial transaction. The esteemed actor is parting ways with his California estate.
The 87-year-old star originally purchased a residence in Pacific Palisades for $6.6 million in 2018, followed by an acquisition of the adjacent property for $6 million the next year, creating an expansive estate, as reported by 'Female First UK'.
However, in the wake of the catastrophic wildfires that hit the area earlier this year, he has listed the combined properties for $6.4 million.
The estate will be divided once more, featuring the initially more expensive home that includes a swimming pool.
The listings are priced at $2.55 million and $3.85 million, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Despite losing his estate to the fires, the star of 'The Silence of the Lambs' maintained a philosophical outlook. Having lived in the U.S. for many years, he expressed on social media, "As we all struggle to heal from the devastation of these fires, it's important we remember that the only thing we take with us is the love we give (heart and prayer emojis) (sic)".
Recently, Anthony also shared insights about his battle with alcohol. He recognized he needed assistance when he realized he "could have killed" someone while driving in California during a blackout.
The actor, who celebrated 49 years of sobriety last December, recounted to The New York Times, "I was drunk and driving my car here in California in a blackout, no clue where I was going, when I realized that I could have killed somebody, or myself, which I didn't care about. I came to my senses and said to an ex-agent of mine at this party in Beverly Hills, 'I need help'".
In a transformative moment, he heard a "vocal, male, reasonable, like a radio voice" from within, which led him to lose his desire to drink.
