In their announcement regarding the postponement, Lyca Productions emphasized, "Considering the ongoing rainfall, the release of #Lockdown has been deferred. Your safety is our top priority. We’ll see you in theaters soon. #LockdownInCinemasSoon."
The studio also released a statement noting, "Due to heavy rains and unfavorable weather conditions, we are delaying the release of our film #Lockdown. We prioritize the safety of our audience, theater staff, and partners. Please stay safe and take necessary precautions. We eagerly await your presence in cinemas to witness 'Lockdown' on the big screen."
Once the downpour subsided, the filmmakers announced a new release date of December 12, but once again postponed it due to unforeseen circumstances.
The film has received a U/A certification from the Censor Board, clearing it for public viewing.
'Lockdown' is a woman-centric narrative that has generated significant anticipation as it is inspired by real events.
The trailer opens with Anupama Parameswaran, portraying the character Anitha, expressing her anxiety about returning home. It becomes clear she is facing issues she cannot confide in her family about, while also dealing with unwelcome advances from men.
