Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) Before winning over audiences on the big screen, actor Arjun Kapoor harbored a different aspiration—one that envisioned him behind the camera instead of in front of it.
The actor recently disclosed his early zeal for filmmaking, revealing that storytelling and direction were his first passions before acting took precedence in his career. In his own words, Arjun stated, “It's the captivating magic of cinema that draws me in. Not everything needs to follow logic—the belief is what sells the illusion. I have a fondness for Korean films and European cinema. I aspired to be a filmmaker. RKRCKR was the most lavish film at the time. I was enchanted, and the joy of movies has lingered. I have always been inclined towards creation. I am perpetually curious about how films come together, and that process brings me immense happiness.”
He further shared that witnessing his father realize the grand vision of “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” sparked that creative passion in him from a young age.
The ‘Gunday’ star, who is currently immersed in watching 'The Day of the Jackal', featuring Eddie Redmayne, also offered his insights on the legendary Top Gun series. When asked about his preference, Arjun remarked, “Tony Scott's film is the original. I admire his works. Then came David Fincher into our lives with classics like Seven and Fight Club.”
He voiced his annoyance with contemporary film trailers for revealing too much of the plot, while commending the suspense and intrigue maintained in the teasers of ‘Padmaavat,’ ‘Animal,’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani.’
“Michael Bay's trailers set the standard. The most stunning scenes of the film are already in the trailer. I want to experience the film's energy in the trailer. Animal had an excellent teaser and trailer! The trailer for Padmaavat is stunning, showcasing breathtaking visuals. It's a director’s trailer. Even Bajirao Mastani had remarkable trailers,” Arjun remarked.
On the professional front, Arjun Kapoor was last seen in “Mere Husband Ki Biwi,” co-starring Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar.
