New Delhi, July 21 (NationPress) Television actress Ashi Singh, who made her small screen debut through the show “Secret Diaries: The Hidden Chapters” in 2015, expresses her belief that she needs to maintain a regular presence in the public eye.
When asked whether she thinks it's essential to continually engage in projects to remain relevant today, Ashi shared with IANS: “At this stage, I do feel that I need to be visible — to be seen frequently. However, I don’t want to accept roles merely for the sake of being busy. I primarily use my Instagram for this purpose. I genuinely utilize it to stay connected.”
The actress, known for her roles in shows like Gumrah, Crime Patrol, and Savdhaan India, actively engages with her followers on social media when she is not involved in any projects.
“When I’m not working on a project, I increase my activity on Instagram — so people can see me, and I can interact with those I previously couldn’t connect with. That’s how I believe I can maintain my relevance. And even if I can’t right now, perhaps in a few months, I’ll take on a project that brings me back into the limelight. So I don’t worry too much about it,” she stated.
Currently, Ashi stars in Sony SAB's romantic-comedy “Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil”. The series features Shabir Ahluwalia and tells the story of Kairi, a determined young woman raising her three siblings, who clashes with Yug Sinha, a lawyer with a jaded view of women due to his past. What starts as a fierce rivalry, both at home and in court, evolves into an unexpected journey of love, healing, and redefining family.
Ashi also made a cameo as the jailer's daughter in the 2017 film “Qaidi Band”, directed by Habib Faisal, which featured newcomers Aadar Jain and Anya Singh. The film chronicles a group of seven innocent under-trials who perform in prison to win favor with the authorities and secure their release.
From 2017 to 2019, she portrayed the lead role of Naina Agarwal in Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai alongside Randeep Rai. She also played Yasmine in Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga.
Later, she was seen as Meet Hooda in Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet alongside Shagun Pandey. Ashi recently made her OTT debut with First Copy, where she portrayed Afreen opposite Munawar Faruqui.
