Mumbai, July 14 (NationPress) Actor Avinash Tiwary has expressed his ambition to move past the OTT label as he prepares for the debut of “Ginny Weds Sunny 2.”
Having earned acclaim for his roles on digital platforms, the actor is now intent on establishing his presence in mainstream cinema. Discussing his aim to move away from the OTT persona, Tiwary shared with IANS, “The OTT actor tag emerged primarily due to Covid, but I was always interested in theatrical works. Last year, I was involved in a few films that didn't progress. That’s when I realized I must take charge to create a distinct identity that communicates I’m not limited to just one platform.”
“Theatre will play a significant role in my filmography. I had an opportunity with a major production house that didn’t materialize last year. If I want to maintain relevance as an actor in this country, I must be present in theatres.”
The 'Laila Majnu' actor further remarked, “OTT provides a chance to connect with global audiences. However, theatres ensure my connection and relatability with people in India.”
Even though Avinash has been recognized as a rising talent, he feels there is still an aspect of his journey that is incomplete. He shared his thoughts, “I don’t understand why the projects don’t create a substantial impact. Every project I undertake is appreciated by those who see them, but the limited audience is perplexing. It seems that my work doesn’t receive immediate recognition but is acknowledged later.”
“Until there is a buzz in Mumbai, people remain unaware of what has transpired.”
Recently, Avinash Tiwary wrapped up filming for his upcoming theatrical release, “Ginny Weds Sunny 2.” This film marks his first solo commercial venture since “Laila Majnu.” In the last two years, he has taken part in various projects, including “Bambai Meri Jaan,” “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter,” and the comedy “Madgaon Express.”
