Mumbai, June 27 (NationPress) Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana is now part of an illustrious group including Kamal Haasan, Ariana Grande, and Jeremy Strong at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this year.
Along with figures such as Naomi Ackie, Gillian Anderson, Branford Marsalis, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Graham, Jodie Comer, and Jason Momoa, Ayushmann is one of 534 individuals invited to join the Academy on June 26.
Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang expressed their excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artists, technologists, and professionals to join the Academy.”
They further noted, “Through their commitment to filmmaking and to the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community.”

According to a statement from the Academy, membership is achieved through sponsorship rather than application. Except for Associates, candidates need sponsorship from two Academy members from the relevant branch.
Academy Award nominees are automatically considered for membership during the year they are nominated, without needing sponsors.
Branch executive committees review candidates, and recommendations are then assessed by the Academy’s Board of Governors. Associate membership is granted solely through invitations from the Membership Committee and Board of Governors in recognition of exceptional service to the Academy and the film industry.
Selection for membership is based on professional qualifications, with a focus on representation, inclusion, and equity being paramount.
