Mumbai, March 20 (NationPress) The Bharat Pavilion has officially launched at the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), inaugurated by H.E. Satwant Khanalia, the Consul General of India, Hong Kong & Macau.
This initiative emphasizes the increasing impact of Indian cinema on a global scale, showcasing the vast potential of India’s storytelling capabilities.
The Bharat Pavilion is organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
It receives backing from the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong & Macau. During the inauguration, H.E. Ms. Satwant Khanalia expressed her pride in the vibrant cinematic landscape of India.
She stated, “It is a privilege to unveil the inaugural India Pavilion at FILMART. India’s film industry ranks among the largest globally, and its narratives connect with audiences from diverse cultures. This pavilion marks the beginning of a new chapter in global collaborations and opportunities for Indian cinema.”
On its opening day, the Bharat Pavilion at FILMART hosted a series of dialogues, meetings, and networking opportunities with international industry leaders. The pavilion encouraged discussions on co-productions, content distribution, and partnerships, paving the way for Indian filmmakers and content creators to venture into new markets and broaden their global presence.
This year, the primary focus of the Bharat Pavilion is to promote the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), set to occur in Mumbai from May 1 to May 4, 2025. With a wide range of industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders anticipated to attend, WAVES aims to establish India as the Content Hub of the World.
