Mumbai, May 18 (NationPress) Veteran actor Puneet Issar has expressed his profound disappointment regarding the silence exhibited by numerous Bollywood stars concerning the ongoing Indo-Pak conflict.
During an open discussion, Issar criticized the absence of public backing for the Indian army from prominent figures in the entertainment sector. He stated, “I am very saddened that many people remain quiet. Why should we be silent? Today, you light candles, carry bags, and engage in various activities, yet when it comes to acknowledging the Indian army, you choose silence.” He urged fellow citizens to prioritize the nation, declaring, “First, we are Indians. Our country must come first. We should stand united.”
Issar also pointed out the recent drone attacks on the Golden Temple in Amritsar, commending the Indian army for averting disaster without any harm. “There should have been at least one tweet or message. Some Pakistani and Punjabi artists have spoken out, which is commendable, but everyone should join in,” he added.
The 'Mahabharat' star also criticized individuals who choose neutrality or show support for Pakistan, labeling it as backing a “terrorist country.” Issar called on all Indians to reevaluate their positions and emphasize national pride and solidarity.
“Why shouldn’t we boldly declare our identity as Indians and support our Indian army? When a natural disaster strikes anywhere globally, India is the first to provide assistance, yet some continue to back a terrorist nation. Every Indian should reflect on this. What is so difficult about this? I urge my friends to take pride in their culture and identity as Indians,” he remarked.
He also praised Operation Sindoor, lauding the swift and effective actions of the Indian army in protecting the nation.
“I am proud to say that I am an Indian. I hold deep respect for the strength of our defense forces. I bow to them. The peace we enjoy today is a result of their unwavering commitment. We have demonstrated to the world that we can thwart every attack from any traitorous nation,” stated Issar.
Bollywood personalities have faced significant scrutiny for their reticence on Operation Sindoor, with critiques from fans and industry veterans alike. Notably, Aamir Khan faced backlash for discussing Operation Sindoor just hours before his film trailer launch, with many decrying the poor timing.
Even megastar Amitabh Bachchan received criticism for his silence on Operation Sindoor and other significant national issues. Similarly, Salman Khan drew negative attention after tweeting about the India-Pakistan ceasefire and subsequently deleting the post.
