Mumbai, Oct 21 (NationPress) Actor Boman Irani has paid a moving tribute to the late star Asrani, reminiscing about their first collaboration and noting that he lived for the essence of action, joy, and the camera until his very last moments.

Boman took to Instagram to share a nostalgic photograph of Asrani, who sadly departed at the age of 84 due to a chest infection on October 20 at 3 PM.

In his caption, Boman expressed: “About ten days ago, I had the honor of working with Asrani ji for the first time. In a particular scene, I was supposed to be injured and lying on the floor, while he, playing the doctor, rushed in to assist me. Although he needed a bit of help navigating the busy set, the magical word “action” had a unique significance for him.”

He reminisced: “Like a live wire, he dashed into the room and instinctively dropped to the floor on his hands and knees, urgently tending to my sprawled figure.”

“When they said “cut,” he required assistance getting up. Yet, his dedication to the whirring camera will remain etched in my memory forever. There was an energy that kept him vibrant and joyous, regardless of his age or condition.”

Boman stated that until the very end, “there was no other purpose in life for him.”

“In his new journey, he will continue to respond to “Action” and engage in what brought him and others happiness.”

Asrani’s final rites were conducted at the Santacruz Crematorium on Monday. The official Instagram account for the actor announced his passing.

They wrote, “The news of the departure of the king of comedy, the remarkable actor Asrani ji, who captured the hearts of millions, has enveloped us all in deep sorrow. He gave Indian cinema a distinct identity through his unparalleled acting, simplicity, and humor.”

“The life he infused into every role will forever resonate in our memories. His departure is not merely a loss for the film industry but for anyone who ever smiled at his performances. May his soul find peace. Om Shanti.”
