Why Chris Hemsworth Chooses to Keep His Tattoo Despite Removal Attempts
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Feb 24 (NationPress) Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth recently opened up about his decision to halt the laser treatments aimed at erasing one of his tattoos.
The renowned actor revealed that he abandoned the sessions after his daughter, India, expressed her discontent, as reported by ‘Female First UK’.
The ‘Thor’ actor, aged 42, shared that he had inked a design inspired by the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You'll Go! on his arm as a tribute to his 13-year-old daughter, since he often read it to her. However, he grew tired of it and started a series of laser treatments for removal. He ultimately quit after just one session due to India's disappointment with the fading tattoo.
During his appearance on the SmartLess podcast, he explained, "I have a Dr. Seuss tattoo. I used to read that book to my daughter a lot, and my mom read it to me. After a few years, I thought, 'I'm kind of sick of it.' So, I began the removal process. I did one laser session, and then she came home one day saying, 'It's rubbing off. What happened to it? It's rubbing off.' I asked her, 'I thought you were sick of it?' and she replied, 'No, I love it, I love it.' So now, it's just kind of half faded but still there.”
According to ‘Female First UK’, Chris elaborated that he has additional tattoos on his arm that were sketched by India herself after she interrupted a late-night brainstorming session with his tattoo artist.
Chris added, "Actually, there are several on my arm from her little drawings. One night, while I was with a tattoo artist designing different concepts, my daughter came out and said, 'Dad, I can't sleep, you're making too much noise.' I apologized, and she sat down and started sketching, creating three little images. One of them was identified by the artist as 'the Wheel of Dharma, eight steps to enlightenment.' He then said, 'I think those are way cooler than anything we’re designing.' So, I took a photo of her drawings, and now they’re inked on me. I have several other squiggles too.”
However, Chris admitted that he often gets bored with his tattoos after they are completed, stating, "The issue is that I get tired of them quickly. I enjoy them for a few weeks, and then I want to remove them all. The ones from my kids have a sentimental value, but I have others that are just odd geometric designs that give off strange vibes.”
