Deepika Singh Unleashes Her Inner ‘Basanti’ in Fun Reels

Mumbai, Jan 6 (NationPress) The beloved television star Deepika Singh has embraced her inner Basanti from the classic hit ‘Sholay’.

She recently took to her Instagram to share a humorous video where she dances to the tune of “Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, a song from the 1975 film, but with a comedic twist.

The video kicks off with Deepika's co-star from “Mangal Lakshmi”, Naman Shaw, portraying the character of Veeru, famously played by Dharmendra. He delivers the well-known line: “Basanti in kutto ke samne mat nachana”.

In response, Deepika quips: “Nahi, jab tak hai jaan main toh reel banaungi” (No, I will keep making reels until I live).

She then begins her dance to the classic “Haan Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, sung by the late, great Lata Mangeshkar. This song was originally performed by Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and the legendary villain Gabbar Singh, played by Amjad Khan.

In her post, Deepika wrote: “Before we roll for shoot, Mein to reel banaungi… #onlocationfun #morningvibes #deepikasingh #namanshaw.”

As for “Sholay”, this action-adventure film, directed by Ramesh Sippy, tells the tale of two criminals, Veeru and Jai (played by Amitabh Bachchan), who are enlisted by a retired police officer portrayed by Sanjeev Kumar to apprehend the fearsome dacoit Gabbar Singh.

Also featuring in the film are Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan, who play the love interests of Veeru and JaiBasanti and Radha, respectively.

The film was filmed over a period of two and a half years in the rugged landscape of Ramanagara, Karnataka. Upon its release, it became the highest-grossing Indian film ever, holding that title until Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!

Meanwhile, “Mangal Lakshmi” is a touching narrative that focuses on the relationship between two sisters, Mangal and Lakshmi. As Mangal navigates through life, she embarks on a quest to find the ideal husband for her cherished sister, Lakshmi.
