Demi Moore Reveals Her Journey Away from the Pursuit of Perfection
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 8 (NationPress) Acclaimed actress Demi Moore has revealed that she no longer seeks perfection. In her earlier years, she aimed for the elusive idea of being "perfect"; however, her outlook transformed after receiving profound insights about life.
During a Power Talks panel moderated by Kerastase at NYA Studios in Los Angeles, she opened up about her reflections, as reported by People magazine.
Moore shared, "Someone once posed an intriguing question about perfection that truly resonated with me. I have often found myself ensnared by the desire to be perfect."
"They asked, ‘Do you know anyone who is perfect?’ To which I replied, ‘No.’ Then they continued, ‘Do you know anything that is perfect?’ Again, I said, ‘No.’ The point was, ‘Why would you aspire to be no one and nothing?’" she elaborated.
According to People, the star of Substance emphasized that she refuses to confine herself to societal norms regarding gender and aging.
"I recall being advised, ‘At a certain age, you should cut your hair, and long hair is inappropriate.’ It struck me as nonsensical to adhere to such a collective rule. Why shouldn't I wear my hair in a way that makes me feel most beautiful, comfortable, and confident? So, I chose to let my hair grow, and I'm quite fond of it," she noted.
Moreover, the actress expressed her belief that aging should not hinder personal growth. "I believe the greatest gift I can offer my children and myself is to continually improve and evolve each day," she stated.
