Chennai, Feb 22 (NationPress) Producer Aakash Baskaran, whose company Dawn Pictures is co-producing director and actor Dhanush’s forthcoming film ‘Idly Kadai’ alongside Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, has officially announced that the release of Idly Kadai is indeed being delayed.
The film's producers had previously stated that it was set to premiere globally on April 10 this year.
In a conversation with a regional magazine, Aakash Baskaran confirmed the postponement. He mentioned, “We have nearly finished filming. Only about 10 percent remains to be shot. We need to complete this in a foreign location. It’s a combination scene featuring Nithya Menon, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Parthiban, and all the cast members. We couldn’t align the schedules of all the artists, which is why we haven’t filmed this combination sequence yet. We didn’t want to rush through it as the film has turned out exceptionally well.”
He further stated that this segment will be finished soon, and the producers will announce a new release date for the film shortly.
Aakash Baskaran also revealed that Arun Vijay will portray the antagonist in the movie, and the confrontation between Dhanush and Arun Vijay is expected to be a highlight of the film.
Moreover, Aakash confirmed that Shalini Pandey would have a significant role in ‘Idly Kadai’, as speculated in various media outlets. He also shared that it was Dhanush who decided on the title ‘Idly Kadai’.
Directed by Dhanush himself, ‘Idly Kadai’ stars Dhanush and Nithya Menon in leading roles. The film, produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures, features cinematography by Kiran Koushik and music by G V Prakash.
