Diljit Dosanjh Honors Young Chess Prodigy Gukesh at Chandigarh Concert

Mumbai, Dec 15 (NationPress) The renowned Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh dedicated his Dil-Luminati concert on December 14 in Chandigarh to D. Gukesh, the youngest World Chess Champion from India.

He shared a sneak peek of his concert on Instagram, telling the audience that it would be the “best night of their life.”

In the video, Diljit began with his signature line "Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye" and expressed his pride in saying it during his performance at Coachella in the United States.

Speaking in Punjabi, he dedicated the show to Gukesh, who made history by becoming the youngest-ever World Champion in chess after defeating Ding Liren from China in a gripping 14-game match.

"Today's performance is dedicated to the world chess champion Gukesh, and do you know why? It's because he envisioned himself as a world champion long before he achieved it. Challenges exist, and I encounter them every day," he stated.

The 18-year-old from Chennai took advantage of a critical mistake by Ding in the decisive 14th game, winning the match with a score of 7.5 to 6.5, thus becoming only the second Indian, following Viswanathan Anand, to claim the World Chess Championship title.

At just 18 years old, Gukesh triumphed over Ding Liren with a score of 7.5-6.5, marking a significant milestone in Indian chess history.

Diljit also referenced Allu Arjun's film “Pushpa: The Rise” and its iconic line “Jukhega nahi.” He praised the movie, mentioning he hasn’t seen the sequel “Pushpa: The Rule.”

Diljit humorously remarked, "Saala nahi jhukega toh kya jija jhuk jayega?"

His tour is set to wrap up on December 29 in Guwahati. In terms of acting, he will appear in “Border 2” alongside stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahaan Shetty.
