Mumbai, Aug 9 (NationPress) National Award-winning actress Divya Dutta recently shared insights into her journey towards embracing a single life, emphasizing that it's more fulfilling to pursue a peaceful and self-focused existence rather than remain in a toxic relationship.
When asked whether she made a conscious decision to embrace singlehood or if it naturally evolved alongside her shifting life priorities, Divya Dutta responded to IANS: “Absolutely.. It just happened organically over time.”
The actress revealed that she initially imagined a traditional, cinematic marriage but came to realize that a demanding career necessitates having an understanding and secure partner by her side.
“I was someone who was very marriage-oriented. I was totally into all the films that I had grown up on—the Yashji films, Karan Johar films—where, you know, you do all those rituals and you feel nice, happy, married.”
“However, you come to understand that in a profession that is highly demanding, it’s crucial to have a partner who comprehends the complexities of this lifestyle, is secure in his own identity, and is incredibly sensitive and understanding. Sometimes you find that, sometimes you don’t.”
Divya believes it’s preferable to enjoy a fulfilling life solo than to endure a “toxic relationship.”
“And I feel, rather than being in a toxic relationship, it is better that you live a beautiful life with yourself at peace, concentrating on where the focus needs to be.”
“Of course, I realize that I come with a very strong image, and even now, if someone approaches me, they are a little enamored before becoming comfortable. But I like it this way, living my life on my own terms. And it’s evident to everyone,” she stated.
Divya’s latest project is “Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans,” a political drama web series directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar.
The series features Aadhi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao in lead roles, along with Divya, Sai Kumar, Srikanth Iyengar, and Nassar. Set against the turbulent political backdrop of 1990s Andhra Pradesh, the series dramatizes the evolving relationship between two significant political figures—Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy—depicting their journey from close friendship to political rivalry.
The show premiered on Sony LIV on August 7.
