Mumbai, Aug 8 (NationPress) National Award-winning actress Divya Dutta expressed that for her, femininity encapsulates the ability to make personal choices freely and equally without relying on others.
When asked about the evolution of her personal definition of femininity over time, Divya shared her fortune of growing up in an environment that granted her this freedom.
"I believe I've been lucky to come from a household where my mother provided me with more freedom than my brother. Thus, I never had the perception that life could be difficult for women in that regard," Divya mentioned to IANS.
She continued, "As you mature, you witness realities—like how some women lack the opportunity to pursue their desired careers."
For Divya, femininity represents the ability to exercise personal choice.
"No matter what those choices are. You shouldn't have to rely on someone else to dictate the course of your life. To me, freedom embodies that. Equality means granting individuals the chance to lead their lives on their own terms without dependency on external influences. So, yes, for me, it should be equal," Divya articulated.
The actress’s latest project is “Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans,” a political drama web series directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar.
The series features Aadhi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao in leading roles, alongside Divya, Sai Kumar, Srikanth Iyengar, and Nassar. Set against the backdrop of the turbulent political climate in 1990s Andhra Pradesh, it dramatizes the shifting relationship between two key political figures—Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy—depicting their transformation from close allies to fierce rivals.
The show began streaming on Sony LIV from August 7.
