Chennai, April 11 (NationPress) Director Ashwath Marimuthu’s sensational film, ‘Dragon’, featuring Pradeep Ranganathan, Kayadu Lohar, and Anupama Parameswaran in pivotal roles, has achieved a remarkable milestone by finishing a 50-day theatrical run.

This achievement is particularly notable as the film continues to thrive in theatres even after its release on OTT platforms.

To recall, Dragon was made available on Netflix on March 21 this year, exactly a month following its debut in cinemas on February 21.

The production house, AGS Entertainment, celebrated this achievement on their X timeline, announcing the film’s successful 50-day run in theatres.

They stated, “A milestone forged in fire, the Araajagam that mesmerized the masses – celebrating 50 victorious days of #Dragon #50DaysOfAraajagam #Dragon50thDay #50DaysOfDragon #MegaBlockbusterDragon.”

It is also worth noting that director Ashwath Marimuthu expressed gratitude towards audiences after the film became a blockbuster, grossing a staggering Rs 100 crores in just 10 days post-release.

The film was a guaranteed success, having recouped its investment solely through non-theatrical ventures.

In a prior conversation with IANS before the film's launch, Ashwath Marimuthu mentioned, “We produced this film with a budget of Rs 37 crores. We have already recovered that amount from satellite rights, OTT rights, and other sales. We have all bases covered.”

Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh, the film features music by Leon James and cinematography by Niketh Bommi.

The editing was handled by Pradeep E Ragav, and the stunts were choreographed by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan. The storyline is a collaboration between Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan, while the dialogues and screenplay were crafted by Ashwath Marimuthu.

Co-directed by Ramesh Narayanan, the film’s costumes were designed by Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja.
