Chennai, Mar 3 (NationPress) Director Ashwath Marimuthu, whose film ‘Dragon’ has officially become a blockbuster by earning an impressive Rs 100 crores within just 10 days of its launch, has expressed his heartfelt thanks to the audience who supported him during times when his confidence was challenged prior to the film's release.

Following the announcement of the film's blockbuster status, Ashwath took to X to share his gratitude, stating, “Dear audience, 100 crore thanks for all the love you have given my team #Dragon. Personally, when some tried to break my confidence before release ‘Nanga irukom pathukalam’ sonna unga elarukum nandri (Thanks to all who said ‘We are there’). I promise to rectify the mistakes in this film and ensure my next is better.”

Producer Archana Kalpathi, whose company AGS Productions is behind the film, also shared her excitement on X, writing, "What a Kathara Kathara Blockbuster! #Dragon crosses 100 Cr Worldwide in just 10 Days! Huge thanks to our amazing audience for all the love!"

The film stars actors Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameswaran, and Kayadu Lohar in leading roles and was released on February 21 this year, quickly proving to be a success by recovering its production cost solely from non-theatrical revenues.

In a previous interview with IANS, Ashwath Marimuthu stated, “We made this film on a budget of Rs 37 crores. We have already recouped that amount from the sales of satellite, OTT rights, and more. All bases are covered.”

Archana Kalpathi further confirmed this information in another interview, stating, “Dragon is a table profit for us. All business aspects are completed with OTT and satellite sales. Whatever we earn from theatrical releases will be a profit. We are unsure of the scale of profit, whether it will be two, three times, or a 30 to 40 percent increase, but we are pleased regardless.”

Currently, the film, which has surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone, continues to perform well.

Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh, the film features music by Leon James and cinematography by Niketh Bommi.

Editing is handled by Pradeep E Ragav, with stunts coordinated by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan. The story is co-created by Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan, while Ashwath also wrote the dialogues and screenplay.

The film is co-directed by Ramesh Narayanan, with costumes designed by Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja.
