Chennai, Feb 14 (NationPress) Director Ashwath Marimuthu asserts that his upcoming film Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameswaran, and Kayadu Lohar, is destined for success, having already recouped its production cost solely through non-theatrical revenue.

In a conversation with IANS, Marimuthu elaborated, “We produced this movie on a budget of Rs 37 crores. We have already regained that investment through sales of satellite, OTT rights, and various other deals. All our bases are covered.”

Producer Archana Kalpathi from AGS Entertainment confirmed this in a separate interview, stating, “Dragon is a guaranteed profit for us because both the OTT and satellite rights are sold – all financial dealings are finalized. Whatever we earn from its theatrical release will only add to our profits. We’re unsure of the scale of profit, whether it will be double, triple, or around 30-40 percent. Regardless, we are content with the outcome.”

The film's trailer has sparked great anticipation, showcasing Pradeep Ranganathan as a character depicted as an “irresponsible, reckless, and seemingly worthless student from the 2018 engineering batch.” Despite having loving and supportive parents, he deceives even them. His romantic relationships falter because no girl desires to be with a perceived failure, spurring him to seek rapid success. This journey forms the crux of Dragon.

Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh, the film features music by Leon James and cinematography by Niketh Bommi.

The editing is handled by Pradeep E Ragav, and stunts are choreographed by Vicky and Dilip Subbarayan. The story is a collaboration between Ashwath Marimuthu and Pradeep Ranganathan, with the dialogues and screenplay penned by Marimuthu himself.

The film is co-directed by Ramesh Narayanan, with costume design by Dinesh Manoharan and Praveen Raja.
