Mumbai, Oct 17 (NationPress) Grammy award-winning artist Ed Sheeran has recently collaborated with renowned Indian musicians like Arijit Singh and Karan Aujla for his new album titled "Play".

Reflecting on his experience of creating "Play" in India, Ed shared a touching message on social media stating, "Creating and finalizing Play in India was an incredibly enjoyable experience. Over the past decade of touring and connecting with local artists, I have been exposed to a myriad of musical styles and cultures. My goal was to encapsulate as much of that diversity as possible in this EP; I’ll provide a detailed overview below (sic)."

Discussing his collaboration with Aujla, Ed remarked, "1. Symmetry featuring @karanaujla - Karan embodies culture, and I admire the movement he is driving with Ikky right now. It’s been fascinating to witness the journey he’s embarked on and to become part of that world. He taught me the Punjabi elements in this track during our studio session, and we also filmed a remarkable music video for it. I sense this is merely the start of our collaborative venture, and I am eager to create more together."

He also praised rapper Hanumankind, composer Santhosh Narayanan, and Dhee, saying, "Don't Look Down featuring @hanumankind, @dhee___, @musicsanthosh - I absolutely adore HMK. I had the chance to meet him at Coachella and was captivated by his performance. We connected there and have been discussing collaboration since then. Santhosh is one of the finest film composers I know, and he introduced me to Dhee, who possesses an extraordinary talent and voice. I wanted to showcase South Indian culture and the beautiful Tamil language in this EP, and they’ve done an incredible job blending these elements together."

When it came to Arijit, the creator of 'Shape of You' remarked, "Sapphire featuring @arijitsingh - Everyone is already familiar with this story, but visiting Jiaganj with my dad to collaborate with Arijit stands as one of my fondest memories in my musical journey.

Concluding with his experience meeting Jonita Gandhi, Ed stated, "Heaven featuring @jonitamusic - I met Jonita in 2024 during my major concert in Mumbai, and we subsequently performed together in the following year when I returned for a tour. To put it simply, I’m a fan. I admire her voice for its tone and softness. This song was the perfect match for us to collaborate on, and it marks my first Hindi release. It’s an honor to work with her; she is truly a remarkable talent."
