In an exclusive conversation with IANS, she disclosed that her spiritual journey began upon her arrival in India, initially inspired by her uncle, who affectionately referred to her as “Krishna.” Elli, who was recently seen at the Iskcon temple in Juhu, elaborated on how this connection has blossomed over time. The actress, known for her role in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, highlighted that since moving to India, she has dedicated herself to learning about Indian spirituality and its rich traditions, enhancing her bond with Lord Krishna.
When asked about her belief in Lord Krishna, Elli described it as both profound and personal. “I have a beautiful connection with him. Ever since I came to India, I started learning all these things. My uncle named me Krishna; he used to call me Krishna Ali. This connection has evolved beautifully,” she said.
During her spiritual outing, Elli wore a stunning sari she purchased from Bihar. “I am wearing a beautiful saree I bought from Bihar when I was shooting for India with Ali. It’s one of my favorite pieces,” she shared.
On the professional side, Elli recently collaborated with Moroccan music star Saad Lamjarred on the song “Homa Dol.” She expressed that this collaboration was a long-held aspiration of hers.
Discussing the song, Elli previously stated, “It felt like two dreams came true in one project. I discovered Saad Lamjarred, the renowned Moroccan singer, after he released a superhit Arabic song. I had always dreamed of doing a music video with him.”
“When the music video team approached me to cast me for Homa Dol alongside Saad Lamjarred, it reinforced my belief that dreams can indeed come true. Additionally, I have always aspired to perform in a period drama, embodying the exquisite looks of a princess from ancient times, and I truly felt like one while filming,” she added.
