Los Angeles, Oct 7 (NationPress) Actor Jacob Elordi, who portrays Frankenstein's Monster in “Frankenstein”, dedicated 10 hours daily to makeup to transform into the creature, revealed director Guillermo del Toro.

The 60-year-old filmmaker shared with E! News during the film's premiere in Los Angeles, California, on October 6: “He took around 10 hours every day and used about 42 pieces of makeup and prosthetics. Then he had to perform.”

Del Toro admired Elordi's commitment to the transformation, according to reports from femalefirst.co.uk.

He elaborated: “He approached it with grace, patience, and love. I told him, ‘Think of this as your ceremonial guard. You are invoking the Creature.’”

“The outcome is both heartbreaking and beautiful. It’s an emotionally raw performance, touching innocence so profoundly that it moves you.”

Oscar Isaac, who plays scientist Victor Frankenstein, was also struck by Elordi's seemingly effortless performance.

The 46-year-old noted: “He was so composed and never complained. Spending 10 hours in makeup daily, he always arrived looking beautiful, vulnerable, and open. I was thoroughly impressed.”

Del Toro previously mentioned that he doesn’t perceive his adaptation of Frankenstein as a horror film.

In August, he told Variety: “No, it’s not. It’s akin to Pinocchio, telling the tale of a creature created by his father and cast into the world, trying to learn to survive.”

“Frankenstein is a narrative about the human experience, focusing on the relationship between a father and his son.”

This film represents Guillermo del Toro's unique take on Mary Shelley's classic 1818 novel, Frankenstein.
