How Did Late Heath Ledger Inspire Jacob Elordi?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Dec 10 (NationPress) Rising Hollywood star Jacob Elordi has recently shared insights into who fueled his passion for acting.
“As a child, I was quite audacious, which is typical for many actors. My teachers were unsure how to handle my energy. However, Mrs. McMahon, my school teacher, took a chance and cast me as the cat in The Cat in the Hat musical,” Elordi recounted in an interview with variety.com.
The actor also reflected on the profound influence of the late Heath Ledger, who tragically passed away in January 2008 at the young age of 28.
“When I donned the big hat and began singing and dancing, it struck me that this was my calling. At around 12, I saw Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Learning he was also Australian made me realize that acting could indeed be a feasible path for me,” Elordi stated.
Furthermore, Elordi disclosed that he faced “intense moments of anguish” while filming Frankenstein, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
To prepare for the Guillermo del Toro-directed film, he had to shed a considerable amount of weight in a limited timeframe, which significantly affected him.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he shared, “My mind was in disarray. I experienced profound anguish around 3 a.m. I would wake up in pain, and it dawned on me that this was a blessing with Frankenstein on the horizon, as I could express my emotions and suffering.”
Elordi genuinely believes that he was meant to portray Frankenstein's monster.
“It felt like it stemmed from another realm. It was a growth, like a pressure in my stomach signaling that I needed to embrace this role. I’ve heard fellow actors say similar things, and I usually thought, ‘Of course, you were destined for this.’ But I truly feel that way,” he explained.
