A confidant of Paresh Rawal shared with IANS, “We must remember that OMG was a project that Paresh ji significantly contributed to, originating from a play he had performed for years. When it was time to produce the film, he showed unwavering support for Akshay Kumar, driven by deep affection, respect, and trust. That connection has always been solid. Years later, OMG 2 emerged, and this is where the narrative becomes unclear. Paresh ji had envisioned that story as an independent film, not intending it to become OMG 2. However, at some point, the script he meticulously crafted was transformed into a franchise sequel. The character was tailored for him. The narrative was his. Yet, he gracefully chose to step away. He did not engage in conflict, nor did he take legal action.”

Previously, Paresh Rawal's attorney addressed Firoz Nadiadwala, who is related to producer Sajid Nadiadwala, noting that the actor opted to withdraw from the film to safeguard his interests while also maintaining his relationship with Nadiadwala.

The actor’s lawyer exclusively informed IANS, “It is true that they failed to provide the story, screenplay, and a draft of a long-form agreement, which were essential for our client's engagement. In light of this, and given that Mr. Nadiadwala, the original producer, issued a notice to our client regarding the film's production, our client decided to exit and returned the funds with interest upon terminating the term sheet.”

For those unaware, the controversy erupted when news broke that Paresh Rawal had exited ‘Hera Pheri 3’. Shortly thereafter, Akshay Kumar, who not only stars as one of the three primary leads but also acquired the film's rights from Firoz Nadiadwala, initiated a lawsuit against the veteran actor.

Paresh Rawal clarified that his departure was not due to any creative disputes with his long-time collaborator Priyadarshan, whom he holds in high regard. He stressed that his decision to leave was well thought out.

Recently, when questioned about others branding Paresh Rawal as 'foolish' for exiting ‘Hera Pheri 3’, Akshay Kumar expressed his support for his co-star without directly addressing the ongoing controversy. He stated that, since the matter is under legal scrutiny, he prefers to refrain from public comments. Nonetheless, Kumar made it clear that he does not condone anyone insulting Rawal.
