Mumbai, May 3 (NationPress) Actress Gehana Vasisth, a participant in the reality series "House Arrest" hosted by Ajaz Khan, has called on the government to initiate legal action against Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, and Radhika Apte for their explicit portrayals on screen.
In a video message, Gehana stated, "I urge everyone, particularly Priyanka Chaturvedi and Chitra Wagh, to ensure equality in legal consequences. Just as you pursued a case against Ajaz Khan, the Ullu app, and the producers of "House Arrest", I ask you to similarly address the actions of Priyanka Chopra, Radhika Apte, and Ranveer Singh."
"They are citizens of our esteemed nation and share responsibility for their public displays. With millions of fans, especially youth, admiring them, I ask that you take my plea seriously," she continued.
Highlighting perceived hypocrisy, Gehana questioned the lack of repercussions for individuals who view adult content online.
She remarked, "If Priyanka Chopra can perform nude scenes in Hollywood or Radhika Apte can appear topless in "Sacred Games" and "Parched", or if Mandakini did bold scenes in the past (like in Ram Teri Ganga Maili), why are they not held accountable for promoting obscenity?"
Gehana further advocated for digital censorship to ensure that content creators adhere to guidelines.
A significant controversy arose after a clip from "House Arrest" circulated on social media, featuring host Ajaz Khan prompting contestants to act out sexual positions on camera.
Gehana mentioned that during the task, the greatest exposure was in a bikini, and all contestants wore additional clothing.
Following the video, the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Ajaz Khan and Vibhu Agarwal, CEO of the Ullu App. The Ullu app has yet to respond to the unfolding situation.
