Los Angeles, Jan 7 (NationPress) Hollywood icon George Clooney reminisced about his first kiss, which occurred when he was just 11 years old, in the back of a church located in his hometown in Kentucky.
He shared a nostalgic moment about how he and the girl were secretly 'hiding' from their friends in the worship place to steal a moment of privacy.
“I had my first kiss in the back of a church in my hometown of Augusta, Kentucky. I was 11. We were hiding from all of our friends who were outside waiting, chanting, ‘Kiss her! Kiss her!’ The romance didn’t endure — kids at that age tend to move on rapidly,” Clooney disclosed to W magazine, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
The actor also recounted a time when he feared his career might end prematurely after a dispute with an executive producer over an unnamed project. However, he received support from someone he had previously aided.
Clooney explained: “About a decade into my career, I had a disagreement with an executive producer. I was merely a minor actor on a television show, and I had to exit. I genuinely thought that was the end for me. I wasn’t in a position of authority, but I wasn’t going to be disrespected. I told him to stop. He shouted at me, and I retaliated.”
“Whether I was terminated or chose to leave is still up for debate. But someone I had assisted years prior caught wind of my situation and invited me for an audition, leading to a pilot opportunity. That kept me in the industry.”
The seasoned star expressed his disdain for “selfishness” and “lack of integrity” as his biggest pet peeves.
He remarked: “These are the traits I find most displeasing in humanity when I encounter them.”
In his latest film, Jay Kelly, Clooney portrays a movie star but emphasized that this character diverges significantly from his own life experiences in Hollywood.
He commented: “It’s amusing because I understand why people might think, ‘Isn’t this a bit too personal?’ But to me, it didn’t resonate that way as this character has made numerous mistakes. He’s alienated from his family, which isn’t the case for me. He only has paid friends, which I do not. I might need to consider paying my friends, but I haven’t reached that point yet. It didn’t feel like me, making it easy to detach and embody a character.”
