Chennai, Nov 22 (NationPress) The much-anticipated action entertainer directed by Vineeth Varaprasad, featuring Harish Kalyan and Preity Mukhundhan in leading roles, has officially been named 'Dashamakan', as announced by its producers on Saturday.
During the title reveal event, director Vineeth Varaprasad shared that Harish Kalyan portrays a rapper in the movie.
"This marks my second film, but it’s the first time I’ve had a platform to truly express myself. In my previous project, I felt voiceless. Rather than lamenting my lack of opportunity, I resolved to create opportunities for others," Vineeth Varaprasad stated.
He further explained, "My aim was to elevate others and savor that journey. This film features 137 junior artists and has helped discover eight new rappers."
He noted that the film centers around a boy who is a rapper, indicating, "Dashamakan is a musical film, but it's not just about music; it encompasses various themes."
"Dashamakan represents my roots. It’s a place dear to me, a city that celebrates Chennai. Growing up here, I wanted to showcase the city through my eyes. Chennai nurtures talent, producing many brilliant minds. I liken North Madras to the Brazil of Chennai. I believe this perspective is reflected in my film," he added.
The film features cinematography by Karthik Ashokan and music by Britto Michael, with editing by Madhan.
