Mumbai, April 17 (NationPress) The highly anticipated series The Royals, featuring actors Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, and Zeenat Aman, is set to debut on May 9 exclusively on Netflix.

Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, with a script by Neha Veena Sharma, the show is produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. It boasts a stellar cast including Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny.

In this series, Bhumi portrays the role of an ambitious and spirited CEO named Sophia Shekhar, while Ishaan takes on the character of Aviraaj Singh, a charming party prince.

Creators Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy stated, “With The Royals, we’ve crafted a romantic tale that intertwines the enchanting allure of palaces and Indian royalty with contemporary glass-walled boardrooms and modern-day realities—where love is anything but straightforward.”

The series explores the dynamic between two individuals from vastly different backgrounds, each grappling with their personal struggles, and finding themselves drawn to one another in unexpected ways.

“As they engage in clashes and challenges to validate their worth, they must also confront whether their love can withstand the turmoil that surrounds them. Anticipate drama, laughs, and an abundance of passion!”

Tanya Bami, Series Head at Netflix India, remarked, “Romantic comedies possess an everlasting allure; they evoke laughter, inspire belief in love, and welcome the delightful chaos that accompanies it. With The Royals, we’ve fashioned a contemporary love story that mirrors modern conflicts. Just as Bridgerton and Emily in Paris have showcased the charm of romantic narratives, The Royals delivers excitement and allure in an unapologetically Indian context.”

“It’s more than just a love story; it’s royalty redefined with warmth, wit, and flair.”

Netflix unveiled the series poster, depicting an intimate moment shared between Bhumi and Ishaan, standing close in a softly illuminated backdrop. They are tenderly holding one another, with their foreheads nearly touching, creating an atmosphere of profound emotional intimacy.

The caption stated: “A ziddi rajkumar encounters a girlboss aamkumari in this royal mess, or is it a regal love story? Tune into The Royals, premiering on May 9, only on Netflix.
