Mumbai, Oct 17 (NationPress) On the occasion of Simi Garewal’s 78th birthday this Friday, actor Jackie Shroff took a moment to share his heartfelt wishes for the iconic actress, honoring her legacy.

Jackie posted on Instagram a touching video compilation showcasing Simi from her earlier years, accompanied by the classic song “Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha” from her 1980 film “Karz”, which starred Rishi Kapoor.

He captioned the post: “My respect always! #happybirthday @simigarewalofficial.”

Reflecting on Simi’s journey, she spent a significant part of her childhood in England and made her acting debut in the 1962 film Tarzan Goes to India alongside Feroz Khan.

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, she starred in numerous acclaimed films such as Son of India, Do Badan, Mera Naam Joker, Aranyer Din Ratri, and Padatik.

In a notable role opposite Shashi Kapoor in the film Siddhartha, an adaptation of Hermann Hesse’s novel, Simi’s appearance in a brief nude scene created quite a stir in India, leading to its release being contingent on cuts mandated by the Indian Censor Board.

She later featured in films like Kabhi Kabhie, Chalte Chalte, Karz, and was prominent in the BBC docu-drama Maharajas, which was based on Charles Allen’s book. Additionally, she hosted the popular talk show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.

On the other hand, Jackie Shroff is set to appear in the upcoming film Welcome To The Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan. This ensemble cast features stars like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Jacqueliene Fernandez, and Shreyas Talpade.

The film also includes actors like Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde in key roles.

Jackie’s most recent project is the OTT series Hunter 2, where he portrays 'The Salesman', the antagonist in the second season of this action-packed drama.
