Jacob Elordi Negotiates to Join Ridley Scott's Upcoming Film Project

Los Angeles, Jan 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi is negotiating to take a lead role in Ridley Scott's next film, The Dog Stars, produced by 20th Century. This movie unfolds as a post-apocalyptic thriller.
Reports suggest that Elordi will step in for Paul Mescal, who is facing scheduling conflicts. Mescal, who is involved in Scott's upcoming Gladiator sequel, was originally slated to portray a character in the story that revolves around a devastating flu virus that nearly eradicates humanity, according to Variety.
However, Mescal had to withdraw due to his commitment to filming Sam Mendes' Beatles anthology. This project is adapted from Peter Heller's 2012 novel, with the screenplay penned by Mark L. Smith. It is anticipated that this will be Scott's next endeavor following a Bee Gees biopic for Paramount.
As reported by Variety, if the deal is finalized as expected, Jacob Elordi will portray a pilot named Hig, who forms an unlikely friendship with a grumpy gunman as they attempt to survive against a group of scavengers known as Reapers.
During a discussion with fellow filmmaker Christopher Nolan after a screening of Gladiator II, Scott hinted that Mescal's participation in the film was uncertain. He mentioned, "Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go," while speaking with Nolan.
Mescal is rumored to be cast as Paul McCartney. However, Elordi also has a busy schedule ahead, which includes the final season of HBO’s Euphoria and Warner Bros.' Wuthering Heights, co-starring Margot Robbie, both set to begin production in early 2025. Scott is reportedly aiming for a spring 2025 start, leaving uncertainty regarding any potential schedule adjustments for Elordi to take on The Dog Stars.
By collaborating with Scott, Elordi continues to build a strong rapport with high-profile directors. The Australian actor, who gained prominence through the Netflix film The Kissing Booth, recently portrayed Elvis in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla.
