Jason Momoa Returns to the DC Universe as Lobo in ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’
Los Angeles, Dec 31 (NationPress) After being removed from the DC Universe as Aquaman, Hollywood icon Jason Momoa is making a comeback.

Los Angeles, Dec 31 (NationPress) Following his exit from the DC cinematic universe in the role of Aquaman, Hollywood star Jason Momoa is rejoining the franchise.

However, this time, the actor will not reprise his role as Aquaman but will take on the character of the antihero Lobo in the upcoming film ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’, according to reports from Variety.

This superhero feature, which stars Milly Alcock from House of the Dragon as the titular hero, is set to be the second installment in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s revamped DC Universe, following the eagerly awaited ‘Superman’ featuring David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

As reported by Variety, Craig Gillespie is at the helm of directing this film, which also features Matthias Schoenaerts as the antagonist Krem of the Yellow Hill and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle. The screenplay has been penned by Ana Nogueira of The Vampire Diaries, based on the DC comics series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

The casting announcement was confirmed by the actor on Instagram, where he shared a quote from an interview with Fandango during the promotional tour for ‘Aquaman 2’. In the interview, he expressed his longstanding admiration for the character, known for his violent and irreverent nature.

“I collect comics, and while I don’t do it as much anymore, he was always my favorite. I always wanted to portray Lobo because I thought, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role’. I mean, if they ever call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*** yeah. I haven’t received that call yet, so I don’t want to spread any false news, but if they ever reach out to me or ask me to audition, I’m all in,” he stated during the interview.
