Jeremy Allen White Cast as the Voice of Jabba the Hutt's Son in 'The Mandalorian & Grogu'

Los Angeles, Dec 10 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Jeremy Allen White, celebrated for his role in 'The Bear', is set to lend his voice to the character of Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt, in the upcoming 'Star Wars' film 'The Mandalorian & Grogu'. This project represents the actor's first significant franchise role following his Emmy-winning breakout performance on the FX series 'The Bear', as reported by 'Variety'.

Details surrounding the plot of 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' have largely remained a mystery, making White's casting as Jabba's son a significant insight into what might unfold for the titular bounty hunter and his charmingly small adopted son.

According to 'Variety', the Disney+ series 'The Mandalorian' takes place in the years following the events of the 1983 film 'Return of the Jedi', where Princess Leia (played by Carrie Fisher) ultimately kills Jabba. The recent spin-off, 'The Book of Boba Fett', showcased how Jabba’s absence created a power void among the crime lords of Tatooine; two of Jabba’s cousins attempted to seize his territory but were defeated by Boba Fett (portrayed by Temuera Morrison), who claimed control instead.

With Jabba’s son involved in this new film, the appearance of Boba Fett and his ally Fennec Shand (played by Ming-Na Wen) seems probable.

At present, Jeremy is working on the biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere', which is based on Bruce Springsteen and directed by Scott Cooper. He initially gained fame for his portrayal of Philip 'Lip' Gallagher in the long-running Showtime series 'Shameless'. However, his performance in 'The Bear' as Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, a chef who returns to Chicago to take over his late brother’s restaurant, solidified White's status as a prominent star, earning him consecutive Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG awards.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the creator of 'The Mandalorian', 'The Mandalorian & Grogu' is based on a screenplay co-written with Dave Filoni. The film will feature Pedro Pascal as Mando and Sigourney Weaver in a yet undisclosed role, and is scheduled to premiere on May 22, 2026. This will mark the first 'Star Wars' feature film since 2019’s 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'.
