Just days ago, she joined Shah Rukh Khan at London's Leicester Square to unveil a bronze statue of their legendary characters, Raj and Simran, commemorating the 30th anniversary of their blockbuster film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Reflecting on this moment, Kajol shared that during the making of the film, they never anticipated it would attain such iconic status for Indians and South Asians. “It’s been 30 years, and we’re thrilled to announce it’s the longest-running film not just in India but globally, having made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. I’m super excited to be part of it. We never planned for DDLJ to evolve into a global sensation for Indians and South Asians. It has become a touchstone for Indians abroad,” Kajol expressed.

She elaborated on how the statue will evoke a sense of pride among Indians and South Asians, not just in the UK but worldwide. “For Indians residing in the UK or visiting, this could be a significant moment to visit the statue, rekindling their nostalgia for the film. There’s a sense of familiarity and a strong connection to it. I hope everyone feels that touch of home when they see us here in Leicester Square,” Kajol added.
