He emphasized that the renowned director and his team have imparted the true essence of the word 'International' to his production company’s name.
At the conference, a day prior to the film's premiere, Kamal Haasan remarked, "A multitude of international standard technicians have contributed to 'Thug Life'. The film genuinely embodies an international spirit, as not just foreign experts participated, but local talents showcased such brilliance that they garnered appreciation from their overseas counterparts."
He cited Mani Ratnam as a prime example, stating, "For instance, Mani Ratnam sir has long deserved the privilege of presenting 'A Mani Ratnam Film' nearly four decades ago. My experience working on this film was akin to Nasser’s experience on 'Nayagan'. This is because the young Mani I witnessed during 'Nayagan' has now transformed into a 'cinema Gnani'. The actor also extended his gratitude to the entire state of Tamil Nadu for their unwavering support, stating, "When I speak on stage, I often say, 'Uyire, Urave, Tamizhe' (My life, my relation, and my Tamil). I sincerely resonate with that. Thank you."
However, he opted not to address the controversy surrounding his remarks regarding the origins of Kannada during a promotional event for 'Thug Life'.
