Katy Perry Responds to Ruby Rose's Sexual Assault Claims
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 14 (NationPress) Music artist Katy Perry has strongly refuted the claims of sexual assault made by Ruby Rose. Rose alleged that Perry assaulted her almost 20 years ago.
The 41-year-old singer issued a statement via a representative after actress Ruby, now 40, shared several posts on Threads about an incident that supposedly occurred at a nightclub in Melbourne when she was in her twenties, according to reports from ‘Female First UK’.
Ruby's allegations emerged following a post by Complex Music about Katy’s comments regarding Justin Bieber and his performance at Coachella 2026.
As reported by ‘Female First UK’, Ruby expressed that it took her “nearly two decades” to publicly address the alleged incident.
She stated, “Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who cares what she thinks?”
Furthermore, she added, “I’m so thankful to have lived long enough to find my voice; it illustrates the significant impact trauma and sexual assault can have. Thank you for recognizing my experience.”
In response to the allegations, Katy’s representative told Page Six, “The accusations being spread on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not just completely false; they are dangerously reckless lies.”
The representative further noted, “Rose has a documented history of making serious public claims on social media against various individuals, allegations that have consistently been denied by those involved.”
Ruby elaborated on the alleged encounter in additional Threads posts, stating, “(Katy) didn’t kiss me. She noticed I was ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and then bent down, pulled her underwear to the side, and rubbed her inappropriate parts against my face, causing me to vomit on her. Afterward, I threw up on her, and I had previously framed the story as a ‘funny drunk moment’ because I didn’t know how else to cope with it. Later, she offered to assist me with my US visa, so I kept it hidden. But I did tell everyone she wasn’t a good person.”
In subsequent posts, Ruby mentioned her intention to formally report her experiences.
