Mumbai, Feb 19 (NationPress) Director Kunal Kohli, renowned for films like Hum Tum, Fanaa, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge, has expressed his views on the rapidly advancing technology in the film industry.
In a conversation with IANS after the release of his latest streaming movie Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story, he emphasized that artists should welcome technology instead of shying away from it.
Kohli stated, “Technology has been beneficial in numerous ways; on set, you can preview edits as needed. This is a dated technology I speak of. Nowadays, you can see your VFX on set and get a rough idea of how it will appear.”
He added, “Therefore, I believe it is crucial to adopt technology and utilize it to enhance your film and simplify your creative process instead of avoiding it. Technology is the greatest advancement in filmmaking.”
Regarding the implications of Artificial Intelligence, he mentioned that artists must master AI tools to leverage them as we advance into the future.
The director also highlighted the importance of having a strong musical understanding as a filmmaker. He remarked that even in an age dominated by cloud platforms and rapid information exchange, he prefers to experience live music from composers without any instruments while collaborating on his films’ soundtracks.
